Freight Ouch!

Freight costs are tough these days. I don't know what your experience is but mine is eye opening. In the closeout business I need to move huge quantities of wholesale merchandise all the time. Both inbound and outbound. From individual cases to pallets to multiple truckloads. We need to keep these truckers from taking advantage. When one gets quotes of $2200 to $3800 for the same load a light should go on. It is time to shop hard, get multiple quotes, and bargain. We could all probably cut our costs by 1/3 if we made the effort. To add insult , they then charge extra if the trucker spends more than the allotted time unloading(as if we have any control over that) but they don't credit us when they fail to show or are late, causing us all kinds of aggravation and extra costs. Fight them. I do and have prevailed some of the time. They are big companies and will try to intimidate but stand up to them and give it a whirl.
